what is Minimalia
Minimalia is born from a renewed awareness of vision and gaze.
It offers alternative opportunities for engaging with and enjoying images, far from stereotypical modes, rushed timing, and increasingly dominant self-referential dynamics in today's communicative and visual landscape, particularly that of social media, from whose logic and functionalities it is, not by chance, detached.
It aims to be a moment of pause and reflection, an attempt to recover a more attentive and disinterested gaze towards everything outside of us and towards ourselves.
On a journey through the infinite folds of the everyday, minimal or marginal aspects, stumbles of the gaze, incursions of the unreal into the real and vice versa, atmospheres encountered or evoked, towards new possibilities of perception.
A journey made possible by the encounter with the thought and gaze of Luigi Ghirri.
One could visit Minimalia as one leafs through a book and, just like a book that keeps you company, return from time to time to browse its pages, to rediscover each time new and different meanings.
