Luigi was an intelligent, cultured, sensitive, humble person.
He had chosen to grow as a man, through photography.
He believed that the experience of a deeper and more fulfilled life should be shared with others.
What entered his photos truly arose in a moment of freedom, of liberation of the gaze

Giovanni Chiaramonte
I have always seen Luigi like this, a comic book character disguised as Donald Duck, who traveled the world in every sense, most of the time in reverse, with a big smile on his lips and a lively look behind a pair of round, opaque glasses, through which images entered his world of fairy tales.

For my part, I felt immense tenderness for that poorly dressed little man with his head in the clouds, but endowed with a cunning, an intelligence, a liveliness of spirit and above all a humanity that illuminated my life and, like the sun, came to warm and reactivate my Italian origins, never ceasing to give them substance, a legitimate critical sense and even a bit of self-irony.
Claude Nori - Luighi Ghirri. The Infinite Friend
What made him happy was the complicity of that element.
The fog had compassion for men and would descend when they least expected it, to soothe tired eyes.
The fog, by defusing false visions, made him feel part of a community of rediscovered men.
No one was sure of anything anymore, no one dictated laws to others, no one dared to step to the front row.
The fog deconsecrated the false witnesses and invited them to document the shape of the clouds, the color of the sky, the scent of ashadow
